Q- Matrix Comsec as a strong player in the surveillance space. Besides the smart city projects, where else do you see the opportunities lying in his domain?

A. Video Surveillance industry is rapidly growing, evolving from age old, analog, and hardware centric products to software centric, IP and wireless solutions. Large and small organizations across industry spectrum now treat and deploy Video Surveillance as an essential part of their physical infrastructure.

Q- What Are Further Potential Improvements In Near Future In IP Surveillance Technology?

A. The industry is witnessing an increase in camera resolution and in the coding technology from H.264 to H.265 as well. Mobility and Cloud are the other two technology trends that are driving innovation. As bandwidth bottlenecks are being removed enterprise applications are moving to the Cloud eliminating customer-premise hardware, servers and software. Overall, customers are rapidly moving from analog and hybrid solutions to pure IP solutions. With this, analog DVRs are being replaced by IP Network Video Recorders. Image resolution is increasing from 2MP to 3MP/4MP and beyond. Video codec H.265 is also becoming the norm. Video is storage hungry and storage was always a constraint. But, now higher capacity hard-disks are increasing storage capacity.

Another big trend is more and more multi-location organizations are investing in VMS to integrate and centralize their existing isolated legacy solutions installed, maintained and used separately. Software applications now available are web based and support mobile applications. Video analytics is another exciting area where analytics are becoming more reliable and therefore useful for real-life applications. New generation of Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) algorithms on Deep Learning help automate many manual processes and create newer functions and applications.

Moreover, we are also seeing new-generation analytics bringing opportunities to solve previously unsolved problems. Some of these analytics such as face recognition are erasing the boundary between Video Surveillance and Biometric technologies. Users are moving from desktop and laptop to mobile as their choice of device to use their Video Surveillance applications fueling need for innovative mobile apps.

Need of automating the security and enhancing productivity by smart identification are gaining popularity. Matrix has gone a step forward with complete flexibility for customers to create real-life surveillance scenarios by using IVA and integrations to automate identification as well as notifications.

Q- India is on its journey to become digital. In such a scenario, how can a company manage the surge of new products and use it real time to provide solution to its customers?

A. Today's technology business is extremely fast paced and is like running on a treadmill. Matrix strives not only to remain in sync but also drive technology changes. Matrix is one of few organizations with indigenous and independent R&D. We invest significantly in product innovation and design. Matrix's primary focus is to develop world-class solutions with cutting-edge technologies to deliver preventive security and higher productivity to customers.

Q- What are your sales and growth plans for the Indian market?

Second, we are also introducing cutting-edge, well-differentiated new products every year. Third, we are expanding our channel network by appointing new system integrators in all the important markets in India and overseas. Last, we are working closely with customers to increase visibility and trust on Matrix products and services.

All these solutions are specifically designed for large and multi-location enterprises, SME and SMB organizations. Matrix products from all three domains can be integrated with each other. Simultaneously, we are also building a strong channel network to expand market reach and take Matrix to all targeted markets by investing in marketing, sales and support.
